The Parks Department starts setting up for this in October, and it officially kicks off during their Light Up The Night event Friday, December 6th from 6-8pm. Enjoy a variety of scenes set up in the open grassy area of the park by walking the sidewalk around the edge. From penguins, Santa, elves, snowmen, and many more, their 250,000+ lights has something for everyone.
Fair warning, Light Up The Night gets quite busy, so if you don't like crowds, skip the first night and go on one of the other 30 days!

The family living at this house has enjoyed putting this on for years! Over time, neighboring houses have also gotten in on the action. Stay warm in your car while enjoying a snack or warm beverage you brought from home. This light show set to music sure to entertain. It lasts 20-30 minutes before the show repeats.
Tune your radio to 104.3 FM to hear the music in your car. It's also posted above the smaller garage in lights if you forget.

Enjoy holiday music timed with the lights on one of the entrance houses. Tune your radio to 96.5FM to listen. The radio station is also posted at the entrances. After the show, enjoy a leisurely drive through the rest of the neighborhood as most houses are also decorated.

Around 80,000 lights on display this year Also this year the community is asked to be involved with dropping off their family Christmas card in the mailbox provided at the corner of the light display and each day the cards will be laminated and displayed on the mega 8 foot Christmas card on display.

Stroll down the sidewalks in downtown Winona Lake and Village area to enjoy a variety of light displays. In years past you can complement it with holiday music as you walk by tuning in to the radio station posted on signs posted near the lights.
Their official tree lighting ceremony is November 16th from 3:30-6:30pm.
December 14th - 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM- Downtown Leesburg
The town of Leesburg will illuminate the streets for the annual Candelaria and Christmas party event from 6 pm-8 pm. Saturday, December 14th. Bring the kids to see Santa, who will come to town at 6 pm. There will be cookies and refreshments such as coffee and hot chocolate at the old firehouse in downtown Leesburg.

If you host for Thanksgiving or stay in town, this event is a great way to kick off your end of the year celebrations. I'm always out of town, so have not yet been able to attend. However, you can enjoy the tree lighting at 6:15 and as well as other holidays activities. See website for full details.
