Kosciusko's Trivia Trail

Updated: Nov 14, 2023

Bar trivia has existed for quite a while. The original goal was to entice patrons to visits bars and restaurants on days and times that were typically slower for the business.

And, the concept works. It's a great reason to get together with friends, family, or colleagues. People go to trivia to have fun; and walk away having learned a few new things, bonded with their teammates over right and wrong answers, and with full bellies.

Of course, the restaurants win too. More customers mean more sales. If you like the game style and/or host, you might become a regular. If you get roped into playing while already dining there, you might stay longer than you originally intended, resulting in more sales as well.

Bar and restaurant trivia is almost always free to play. Exceptions come into play if there is a certain tournament or fundraiser it was organized for. Kosciusko has several options if you'd like to try trivia for the first time, find another day to play, or want to check out a different style of game.

*Some locations take breaks at different times of the year. Always check with the location to confirm current show details*

Tuesday

7-8pm @The Pier & Back Porch (702 E Lake View Rd Ste 1, Syracuse, IN)

This is a lively 1 hour trivia show produced by BrainBlast Entertainment. Questions cover a wide variety of topics each week. You can wager points, and on the final question, similar to Jeopardy - get the answer wrong and you lose the amount of points you wagered. I assume the winning team gets something, though I haven't had a chance to play at this location.

Wednesday

7-8pm @Wings, ETC (3416 Lake City Hwy, Warsaw, IN 46580)

Technically, this option isn't trivia. It's actually a take on the popular TV game show Family Feud. Called Survey Time Showdown, each team is trying to guess the most popular answer given for each survey question. Points are awarded for how close you got, with the top 3 scoring teams receiving money to Wings, ETC.

I'm also biased on this option since I am the host. I have been hosting this show since Wings signed on the game produced by BrainBlast Entertainment in April 2016. It's probably the only bar style 'trivia' game where you are allowed to use your phone!

Thursday

7-9pm @Hoplore Brewing - The Mill (100 Old State Rd 15, Leesburg, IN 46538)
AND
7-9pm @Hoplore Brewing - Market Street/Ghost Spot Kitchen and Taproom (307 W Market St Suite 2, Warsaw, IN 46580)

Yes, you read that right, they have the same game at the same time at both their locations. So whether you want the Leesburg or Warsaw vibe, you can play.

This game is a longer time commitment running ~1.5 hours. Be sure to field a team full of diverse knowledge as the categories range widely! Their game is currently produced in house, but they have used a company before. Prizes for the top team.

Friday

6-7pm @Tippy Creek Winery (5920 N 200 E, Leesburg, IN)

Tippy holds a 1 hour trivia show produced by BrainBlast Entertainment. Questions cover a wide variety of topics each week. You can wager points, and on the final question, similar to Jeopardy - get the answer wrong and you lose the amount of points you wagered. The winning team takes home a rotating trophy and gift card money.

PS - I know BrainBlast is always open to more shows, so if you have a favorite restaurant you'd like to see add a trivia, family feud, or bingo style live game show, email scott@brainblastproductions.com. Include the restaurant manager/decision maker's contact info and tell him you heard about it from Kelly!
